Small Bathroom Rugs for Practicality and Decoration

Decorating your bathroom can be somewhat difficult without spending a lot of money. One thing you can do is to use small accessories to bring a splash of colour or even a whole new look to a room. The key is just choosing the right combination of colours and designs. A great way to start is by purchasing a set of small bathroom rugs.
Decorating with Rugs
Using rugs to decorate is far from a new idea. They are probably the easiest products to pick out and purchase for your bathroom. When buying small bath rugs try to choose designs that will complement the current look of your bathroom. Use colours that already dominate the room, or colours that work well with those that are already prominent, such as cream in a brown room. If you would like a patterned rug, make sure it will not contrast with any patterns already in your bathroom.
Think about the shape of any small rugs you purchase as well. A small round bathroom rug can complement rooms that already use curves in other décor and furnishings. Ovals can be used in the same way and will be better suited to rectangular rooms than circular rugs will be. If considered carefully, a small round bathroom rug can also be used to soften a square room that currently has no curved edges.
Practical Benefits
Rugs are able to increase the comfort and safety of your bathroom as well as improving the way it looks. Even a very small bath rug can provide a soft, warm area for you to step onto when you are getting out of the bath or shower. This is obviously much more comfortable than walking around on hard floors with bare feet. Purchasing a set of rugs is a great idea as you can then place them in the places you are most likely to be using. One mat can be placed next to a bath or shower with another one in front of your toilet. Sets of rugs often come in packs of three so the final rug can be placed in the centre of your bathroom.
When you have a small bathroom rug to stand on, there is a lot less chance of slipping over on a hard wet floor. Rugs designed for bathroom use will very often have a rubbery bottom that allows them to grip the floor well. This obviously improves bathroom safety quite considerably.
